The older the better

Outfit Details:

sweater - Banana Republic, skirt - Gap, tights - Winners, shoes - Joie, necklace - Joe Fresh

I love that clothing from Gap Inc. always (at least within the last 10 years) includes the year and season the item came from.  I have this habit of checking the tag before I wear any Gap, Banana Republic, or Old Navy clothing.  The older the item, the happier it makes me.  It sort of solidifies that this _fill_in_the_blank_ was a good buy.

This particular sweater is one of the older pieces in my wardrobe and came from "FALL | 05" -- so a good five+ years ago.  The sweater is a great classic, but the details -- blouson sleeves and sweetheart-ish neckline -- make it interesting.  I'm sure this sweater will be in rotation for a good number of years.

We wore the same skirt today!

I also love it when I find a piece in my closet that's been able to withstand my weight fluctuations, outdated fashion purges, and natural wear and tear and stand the test of time.

Great look today - love the mix of colors and that your sweater looks new even though it isn't. Thanks for the tip on the clothing labels - now I want to go to all my gap clothes to see how long I've really had them :)

omg I HAVE That sweater in black and ivory and you have just inspired me to dig it out from the recesses of my dresser and wear it. What a cute look!
