H&M Garden Collection

OOTD April 6 2010

Outfit Details:

tank - H&M, cardigan - J.Crew, jeans - Banana Republic, shoes - Poetic License, necklace - Cleo

When the Garden Collection came out a few weeks ago, I was super excited. The collection looked fun and spring, and the price points were surprisingly good. Unfortunately, working full-time has not been beneficial for the inner-shopaholic in me. (Although it has been extremely beneficial for the wanna-be-millionaire in me, since I have less opportunities and time to spend mah moolah). By the time I had a chance to get to H&M a few days after the collection hit stores, it was pretty picked over.

I did manage to snag a few cute tops including this rosette tank that I fell in love with. It is very J.Crew-esque without the J.Crew price tag.

However, even though I love the tank, I'm not happy with how my outfit came together today. The tank is hitting me at the worst possible spot making me look wider. I think I'll need to take it up a few inches, and then it'll be perfect.

That tank is beautiful on you! I agree it is very jcrew-like minus the jcrew sticker shock factor!

I've been dying to check out this collection, too, but haven't had a chance. The tank is so lovely!

Hi, I'm new to your blog, I wanted to tell you how much your "good eye" and critiquing what you have on has helped me. For instance today, how you pointed out how the blouse needs hemmed, as it is hitting you in a bad spot! It has taught me to always look in a full length mirror and really take a good look at the proportions and lines of an outfit. Thanks!

Pretty! I love how you paired it with the hot pink sweater and amazing blue shoes–and I can just picture it with all sorts of colors which is fantastic. Is the top beltable, or is it too thick with the rosettes? That might be a way to give it a little more shape if you want–seems like hemming it might ruin some of the rosettes, plus it's lovely (in a more casual way) the way it is. :)

Thanks everyone!

"I", I'm glad that my blog has helped you. Sometimes I feel like I'm overly critical and can obsess over things that nobody would ever notice. LOL Proportions are really important to me because at 5'3", I'm always trying to appear taller!

e, I think you are right that hemming might ruin the rosettes. Also, the thought of hemming chiffon intimidates me. I have a gold leather belt that might be perfect with the pale pink. Thanks for your suggestion!

Very cute outfit! I agree with you- if the shirt was hemmed a teeny bit it would be really flattering.
